Hello there! I'm Susanna from Finland.

Web developer with a background in journalism

How moving from Finland to USA helped me finally pursue coding full-time.

I fell in love with coding two years ago, after enrolling in a Java programming course at the University of Helsinki. Suddenly, I knew how to build a calculator, a mock cash register or even a program that tells Chuck Norris jokes. It was mind-blowing. A dream started to form: I wanted to turn my passion for programming into a full-time career.

Moving to from Finland to USA last October was the perfect opportunity for this. When the year 2018 started, and after I had finished my master's thesis and graduated from journalism, I started coding full-time. I've been on that journey ever since, and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I recently graduated from Flatiron School's immersive, intensive software engineering course. I'm Full-stack web developer with a passion for building innovative and user-friendly applications for inspiring businesses. With experience in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, and React and a background in journalism and communications, I offer a great combination of current technical knowledge and excellent communications skills.
